How it works
Steadyhand stays present through every stage β guiding you, protecting you, and making sure you always know what happens next.
Before work starts
Find the right tradie, understand what you are being quoted, and agree on every detail before work begins. Nothing starts until both parties sign the scope.
During the job
Work happens in approved stages. You release payment only when each milestone is complete. Progress photos keep you informed. Scope changes are agreed in writing.
After it is done
A structured sign-off starts your warranty period. A warranty certificate is issued to your document vault. Issues logged within the period are tracked against a response SLA, with workmanship and product issues recorded separately.

Most homeowners go into a renovation without knowing what fair pricing looks like or what WA law actually guarantees them. These guides change that.
WA Warranty Guide
Western Australia has specific statutory warranty obligations that apply to all home building work. Most homeowners don't know what they are β or how to enforce them. This guide covers defects liability, the Home Building Contracts Act, and what to do when something goes wrong.
Read the WA warranty guide βWA Cost Guides
Trade pricing in WA varies enormously β and without a benchmark, you can't tell if a quote is fair. Our cost guides cover electrical, plumbing, painting, tiling, roofing, landscaping and more, with realistic Perth metro price ranges based on actual job data.
Why Steadyhand is different
Every other trades platform was built around the tradie β to help them find leads. Steadyhand was built around the client.
Steadyhand earns only when work is completed and approved. We have no incentive to fill your shortlist with the highest bidder.
Every job includes a pre-signing Dialogue Rating across six dimensions β pricing transparency, compliance, risk, timeline and more.
Use Xero for invoicing or your own CRM for quoting β bring the signed document back to Steadyhand for warranty tracking.
Every trade business has their licence and insurance verified before they appear in any shortlist. Verification is a requirement.
Clients can send an optional contribution to any tradie who went above and beyond. It goes directly to the tradie with no fees taken by Steadyhand.
Your signed scope agreement and warranty certificate are stored in your vault and downloadable at any time β useful for insurance claims, property sales, or disputes.
For trade businesses
Steadyhand helps trade businesses become more professional, more compliant and more digitally capable β without disrupting how you already work.
Every job you complete builds your Dialogue Rating average. A high score signals to future clients that you engage transparently on pricing, compliance and risk β before work begins.
Your scope agreement is stored permanently against every job. No more disputes over what was agreed. No more chasing signed documents.
Once the client signs off on the completed work, a single payment is processed through Stripe. Funds go directly to your bank account. Steadyhand takes 3.5% β only when you get paid.

Common questions
How is Steadyhand different from other platforms?
Most platforms connect you with a tradie and step back. Steadyhand stays present through every stage β the scope agreement, the milestone approvals, the warranty period. We earn only when work is completed and approved.
What does the 3.5% completion fee mean?
When a payment is released through Steadyhand at signoff, we take 3.5%. No subscription fees, no lead fees, no upfront costs for clients. Tradies who join during our preview launch have their platform fee waived β and see exactly what they save on every job.
Do I have to use Steadyhand for payments?
The final payment at signoff is processed through Steadyhand via Stripe. This is what activates the warranty period and ties the payment to the completed, approved work. Milestone tracking and documentation work regardless of payment.
What if my tradie is not on Steadyhand?
You can invite any tradie by email. They create a free account and join your job. They do not need an existing profile to be invited.
Is Steadyhand available outside Western Australia?
Not yet. We are building specifically for WA β metro Perth, the South West, and regional areas. Geographic focus means better tradie verification and a platform that understands WA compliance.
What happens if something goes wrong after sign-off?
Any issue logged within the warranty period is tracked against a response SLA. You have a complete documented record β signed scope, milestone photos, variation approvals β to stand on. Your warranty certificate and scope agreement are downloadable from your vault at any time.
Steadyhand is for Western Australian homeowners and trade businesses who believe that good work deserves a proper process.
